Centre for Health and Social Justice (CHSJ) is a health policy resource centre working with the mission “to promote human development, gender equality, human rights and social justice with specific reference to the field health, in its widest interpretation.” CHSJ was established in 2006 with the objective of influencing the discourse and practice of public health by:

• Carefully documented evidence on the impact of policy intention and programme delivery on the lives of citizens, especially women and the marginalised.
• Enhancing insights and skills among policy makers, providers, managers, community leaders and activists to take leadership in a process of change which will ensure greater social justice.

CHSJ works with civil society and government to facilitate the formulation and implementation of health policies and programmes to ensure social justice.
